Part Time Status and NO Insurance

Kelly P thought she qualified for insurance through her work. But unfortunately, she did not because she worked less than 30 hours per week. This was company policy for her position. Many companies now restrict or limit benefits such as health and maternity insurance to part time employees.

Doctors and hospitals are businesses and they are generally "for profit" businesses. They will often charge uninsured or unaffiliated individuals more than their preferred clients and the contracted insurance companies they mostly work through. It's a sad but true fact.
